What a Weekend

If you're from New England - you know this weekend was all about snow, arctic freeze, and football. This wicked weekend warrior was there for it all!

To get the most out of the weekend we loaded up the Jeep and headed up to Loon Mountain for a chance to ski some fresh snow and catch a little apres ski before heading home to catch the second half of the Patriots AFC Championship game.

While I always look forward to apres ski and talk about how I want to live the mountain lifestyle all the time, the part I actually crave is the part where I get to play outside.  The lifestyle flows organically when you really make the play happen.

How can I make the lifestyle that I talk such a good game about part of my "real life?"  Well, part of being a weekend warrior is about making choices.  In this case it was making a last minute hotel reservation on a holiday weekend when prices and availability weren't awesome, timing our travel around the storm to avoid traffic issues, and buying a lift ticket even as other people were turning theirs in for a voucher because the lift lines were too long.

Some of the choices weren't made in the moment - some of them are ingrained in my day-to-day life. Probably the most important examples are eating well a majority of the time and getting to the gym the right number of times per week and putting in the work that allows me to feel epic during my limited hours living the dream.

The photo sums it up - skiing, windburn, Patriots, beer, and fun.  But I didn't do it for the photo, I did it for the experiences.
